the aquatic safety is a concise and satisfying study in the possibilities of lofi music that retains its pop sensibilities. although i try to avoid comparisons here, this bedroom pop two-piece wears its
guided by voices influence prominently on its sleeves, right down to the collage style cover art.
the fact remains that this a quality lofi indie rock/pop album. the old patch-cord buzz and tape clicks and fuzz cannot completely obscure the hooky songwriting chops and off-kilter beatles-isms to be found lurking within this album.
