renegados do folk are a brazilian folk/rock band with a grungy edge. their newest EP is called 'sobre carroças, cavalos e pessoas'. everything is in portuguese, but i gather that this is music of restlessness and rebellion in some sense. the rock/grunge vibes are brought by heavy, happening bass guitar riffs. a bunch of world percussion, surprising melodies and tuneful singing betray the influences of brazilian music. good stuff.
